Milbemax for Large Dogs

Product Description

Milbemax for large dogs is a worming tablet that can be used for heartworm when given monthly or for intestinal worms if used every 3 months.

Milbemax contains the active ingredients milbemycin oxime and praziquantel to effectively kill all types of intestinal worms that infest our pets. Some wormers do not cover tapeworm, but the praziquantel in Milbemax effectively kills this common parasite. Milbemax for large dogs is suitable for dogs from 2 weeks of age. The appropriate dose is as follows: 5-25 kg – 1 tablet 25-50  – 2 tablets 50 – 3 tablets When used in puppies, please worm your puppy every 2 weeks until 12 weeks of age, then every month until 6 months of age. If you are using Milbemax for both intestinal worms and heartworm, continue with monthly worming for life. If you are using Milbemax just for intestinal worms (and perhaps you are using another product such as the yearly proheart injection for heartworm), you just need to give your Milbemax tablet every 3 months from 6 months of age onwards. If given monthly, Milbemax is an effective preventative for pets at risk of heartworm. Heartworm is spread by mosquitoes and is incredibly hard to treat once your dog has been infected. This is why monthly prevention is recommended in Australia, all year round. For the small cost of a heartworm tablet, your dog is safe from this deadly disease. If you have inadvertently forgotten your heartworm tablet for more than 3 months, please ask for a heartworm test from your vet. If you do give a preventative tablet such as Milbemax when your pet already has established heartworm disease it can be fatal. If your dog just needs treatment for intestinal worms, including roundworm, hookworm, whipworm and tapeworm, Milbemax effectively kills these intestinal worms to break the lifecycle of these parasites. If you do happen to see worms in your pet’s faeces, this just means that the product is working effectively. Milbemax is safe to be used in collie breeds and has been safety tested up to 10 times the recommended dose.
